MONROVIA, LIBERIA - The hope of a third African Cup of Nations Final appearance of  Liberia's National Football team, the Lone Star, has been dashed by the Leopards of D.R. Congo.

D. R. Congo Sunday, March 24, 2019 defeated Liberia 1-0 to eliminate the Lone Star, enabling them to advance to the final. D.R. Congo scored in the 52nd minute to deny Liberia a qualification to the 20119 Africa Cup of Nations Final.

Liberia needed just a draw to qualify, finishing Group H campaign in third place behind D. R. Congo and Zimbabwe in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

Liberia failed to pick a point in all three away matches in the campaign. Liberia will now have to prepare for the 2021 edition, which qualifying rounds will kick off at the close of the year.
