MONROVIA, LIBERIA - The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation said it is seriously concern about current dryness issue of water it is experiencing in regards to water supply in the Country.

LWSC Deputy Managing Director for Technical Services, Dan Saryea, said: “Due to the low ties we are experiencing down scream that will require back watching of their filtration system to ensure that it cleans the salt out of the sand will take some time”.

The LRWS says it is working on technical modalities to help address the current Dryness it is experiencing at its filtration system.

Mr. Saryea said: “The situation occurred when the Liberia Electricity Corporation closed down its gate to build up their ties thus affecting the LWSC filtration system”.

He told ELBC Tuesday, March 26, 2019 that the situation has not happened for years as technicians are working tirelessly to solve the problem.

The LWSC has also disclosed plans for the restoration of its raw water lines as the Corporation is currently working with partners to help restore the key water line which was destroyed during the war.

He said when the water line is fully completed; the LWSC will not experience the ongoing salty water issue any longer. Mr. Saryea re-emphasized the importance of safe and clean drinking water to the society, adding that it is not only key to life but also to national security.

He said water and sanitation is critical to the fight against poverty and should be prioritized.
