C.J. Korkpor denies House of Reps’ application against Justice Rtd. Banks

MONROVIA, LIBERIA - Chief Justice, Francis Korkpor, has denied application of lawyers representing the legal interest of the House of Representatives, seeking to remove Justice, Philip A. Z. Banks, III testimonies from the records of the ongoing impeachment trial.

They accused former Justice Banks of being one-sided in his two - day testimonies as an expert witness to provide evidence.

Chief Justice Korkpor, denied the Lawyers’ application on grounds that the credibility of the retired Justice evidence should be left with the discretion of the jurors to decide.

According to some of the applications filed by the Lawyers, the retired Justice does not have a degree in constitutional law, but declared the impeachment trial as unconstitutional.

The House’s lawyers also claimed that former Justice Banks, is not a neutral witness as evidenced by several statements made by him.
