MONROVIA, LIBERIA - Final legal argument is currently ongoing between lawyers of the House of Representatives and the embattled Associate Justice, Kabineh J’aneh  at the Liberian Senate.

This followed the presentation of witnesses by both parties in the ongoing impeachment trial.

According to ELBC Legislative Reporter, a vote is expected to be taken later today Wednesday March 28, 2019 by the Senate’s Jurors to decide Justice Ja’neh’s fate for acquittal or conviction.

Consistent with Constitutional provision, the power to prepare impeachment trial is solely vested in the House of Representatives, while the power to try all impeachment-related matters is vested in the House of Senate.

Justice Ja’neh is facing impeachment trial for an alleged commission of multiple offenses, ranging from theft of property, corruption, mis-use of power, among others.
