Pres. Weah breaks ground for Omega Int’l Market

PAYNESVILLE CITY, LIBERIA-President George Manneh Weah has reiterated the CDC-led Government’s commitment to improve the lives of Liberians through the undertaking of meaningful development projects.

President Weah said:” As President I have no choice but to do what is best for the survival of Liberians.”

The Liberian Leader made the statement Friday, March 29, 2019, when he broke grounds for the Omega International Market in Paynesville City.

Addressing the marketers, President Weah assured them of a better life while doing their various businesses at the marketplace.

He urged the marketers to take care of the market facility when completed within a year.

President Weah commended the Government of Japan for its assistance to construct the market facility, describing Japan as a partner in progress.

In response, the Superintendent of Omega International Market, Tewah Bono, said:” The creation of empowerment opportunities for marketers will buttress Government’s development agenda.”

Madam Bono said marketers have the potential to contribute to the economic growth of the Country if fully supported.

She praised President Weah for his interest and commitment in empowering market women in the Country.

Madam Bono maintained that upon completion of the market, marketers will be accommodated and relocated, especially for those selling in the streets.
