MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has sharply reacted to a denial claim by Crane Currency that it did no wrong in the printing of excess Liberian Dollars.

The Government of Liberia said the claim lacks merit and does not support the records submitted by Crane Currency and the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) to the Presidential Investigative Team.

A release issued by the Justice Ministry of Liberia on April 2, 2019, said the Government’s indictment against Crane Currency and some former and present CBL remains irreversible.

They were recently charged with economic sabotage.

The Liberian Government also clarified that the airway and seaway bills and packing list established by Crane Currency revealed that the company printed 18.6 billion Liberian Bank notes above the 15 billion Liberian banknotes contracted to print.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Investigative Team and Kroll said that they stand by their findings on the printing of excess banknotes by Crane Currency.
