EU signs US$2.5m poultry hatchery project

(mylbsonline/Liberia)-The European Union (EU) has signed a US$2.5m poultry and hatchery projects to be implemented throughout Liberia.

As part of the project, BRAC-Liberia has broken grounds for the construction of a poultry and hatchery in Nekreen Township, Grand Bassa County.

The project is valued at over US$600,000. The project is being supported by Chevron-Liberia and the European Union (EU).

BRAC Country Representative, Mohammed Salam, spoke at the ground-breaking ceremony over the week-end in Grand Bassa County.

Mr. Salam said: “The project will provide job opportunities for over 250 citizens and residents of the township. “The project will also support local poultry farmers in Grand Bassa County and other parts of Liberia,” he further noted.
