Gov. offloads materials for reconstruction…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Reports say materials for the reconstruction of damaged homes in the Popo Beach Community have begun arriving at the project site.

They include sand, crushed rocks and many more to jump-start the Quick-Impact-Project for the recent fire victims.

On Monday, April 8, 2019, President George Weah pledged the Liberian Government’s support to ensure the reconstruction of fifty homes as a result of the fire incident.

The Executive Director of the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE), Quiwu Yeke, made the disclosure Monday, April 8, 2019, in an ELBC interview.

The LACE Boss said the construction period will be strictly observed.

Mr. Yeke called on beneficiaries of the project to work along for effective implementation of the project.

In another development, Yeke also disclosed that about 109 homes have reached 35-40 percent or window level in Grand Kru County.

The Government of Liberia is to shortly rebuild homes of fire victims of Popo Beach in New Kru Town in two months.

Recently, several homes in the Popo Beach Community were gutted by fire, leaving residence homeless with some sustaining injuries.

President Weah said:” The move was Government’s way of identifying with its citizens during disaster.”

He wants victims cooperate by providing manpower in aiding those hired to reconstruct the homes.

According to him, while the homes are under reconstruction, he will embark on a vigorous monitoring process in meeting deadline.

The Liberian Leader made the comment Monday, April 8, 2019, when he consoled and presented food and non-food items to victims.

In remarks, two of the fire victims praised the Government through President Weah for its timely intervention.
