Carter Center, LIPA to train Top, Middle Level Managers

MONROVIA, LIBERIA - Government’s top and middle level managers in the Public Sector are expected to be trained to enhance productivity and efficiency in the governance of the country.

According to a Memorandum of Understanding between Carter Center, Liberia and the Liberia Institute of Public Administration, (LIPA), the training will promote transparency in the public sector.

The Carter Center and LIPA are committed to working together in providing training for government’s top and middle civil service managers for one year.

Carter Center-Liberia Country Representative, Dorbor Jallah, described the signing ceremony, Monday, April 8, 2019 as information and a cardinal component to use in nurturing the democracy of any nation. 

Mr. Jallah said: “The EU-sponsored program will provide trainings in three areas, including diplomacy, certificate courses on Freedom of Information Laws for public servants of all levels”.

For his part, LIPA Director General, Prof. Alexander Yonly, called on Liberians and partners to support the project in the interest of the Liberian democracy and praised the partnership between his entity and the Carter Center.

The Carter Center and LIPA are committed to working together in providing training for government’s top and middle civil service managers for one year.

Beneficiaries of the partnership will receive basic training to get better understanding on the application of the Freedom of Information Law.
