Adventist University unveils plans to offer Master Degree

MONROVIA- LIBERIA - The President of the Adventist University of West Africa (AUWA), has unveiled plans to making the university a research Center in offering Master Degrees soon.

Dr. Emmanuel Kollie said: “The plans toward up grading the academic will in the immediate make the university a research center and starts offering Master Degrees in Public Health, Business Administration, Leadership and Computer Science”. 

Dr. Kollie further assured a cross section of the university’s Alumni Association members that arrangement with other foreign Adventists University in West and East Africa is fast advanced in making the AWUA becomes a Master offering institution in Liberia.  

He spoke at a retreat for the adoption the first Adventist University of West Africa Alumni Association’s draft constitution heard Sunday, April 7, 2019 in Thinker Village, Paynesville, Montserrado County.

A member of the Trustee Board of the Adventist University of West Africa, Wilmot Paye, performing a special task for the adoption of the constitution, lauded the University’s administration for its radical efforts making the university departing from a serious crisis that once threatened its   existence.

Mr. Paye, said: “The existence of the Alumni Association out to serve as compass to help provide direction for the university to out shines other universities to reach its highest height. It’s not about the size but what matter most is the substance of education”.

The Trustee Board Member urged the alumni association to remain focused on the dream of the university to making it great in advancing the educational system in Liberia to affect the rest of the world.

The Adventist University Alumni Association, President, Morrison Morris said: “The Executive Committee of the Alumni Association has taken series of practical steps to set a tune for a massive Alumni Home Coming in June this year”.

The Alumni President then presented the group development plans to assist the administration of the university and listed some of the achievement being made so far.

The University being relocated to their future campus along the Roberts International Highway near Marshall Town in lower Margibi, begun academic activities since 2015 until now has had three convocations and graduation ceremonies.
