MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Two religious leaders are calling on Liberians to observe Fast and Prayer Day with supplications and sober reflections in appreciation of God’s blessings upon the Nation and its people.

A Pentecostal prelate, Edwin Kaybah, described the celebration as essential and the collective responsibility of all Liberians, irrespective of religion or tribal affiliations.

Dr. Kaybah said:” It’s about time Liberians fast, pray and give thanks and praises to God for many blessings bestowed upon Liberia and Liberians.”

He spoke Friday, April 12, 2019, in an ELBC interview in the observance of Fast and Prayer Day.

At the same time, a Baptist Pastor is warning Liberians against merry-making and alcoholism in observance of Fast and Prayer Day.

Rev. Amos Howard wants Liberians appreciate God’s blessings and mercies on the nation and its people and assemble in their various places of worship to fast and offer prayers.

Rev. Howard decried the huge challenges of the Country and called on Liberians not to celebrate the Day on the beaches, as doing so will be a disservice to God.
