AFL Cpl. Violates UCMJ - joint investigation reveals

MONROVIA, LIBERIA - The Ministry of National Defense in collaboration with the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), has completed the investigation of one of its officer, Cpl. Sieh Collins for allegedly posting threatening statement on his Facebook profile.

Cpl. Sieh Collins post is against some Liberians planning to embark on an anti-government protest to be stage on June 7, 2019.

According to a release issued by government,” Cpl. Collins’ Facebook post threatened to kill anyone protesting on the streets of Monrovia to keep his country safe”.

The joint investigation report indicates that Corporal Collins is being held liable for violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) Article 92 and forwarded to the Disciplinary Board of the AFL for further probe.

The Defense Ministry is therefore, cautioning personnel of the AFL to use social medial with prudence and avoid acts that will damage the image of the army.

The Ministry has reiterated that the Armed Forces of Liberia will continue to exhibit good morals and professionalism in the execution of its national obligations.
