MONROVIA, LIBERIA-House Speaker Bhofal Chambers has described as premeditated the abrupt cancellation in protocol disallowing fallen Representative Adolph Lawrence from lying in state.

Activities for the State Funeral of the late Representative turned into a drama Thursday, April 25, 2019 after scuffle between the purported supporters of the opposition Liberty Party and the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change.

The situation prevented the body of the fallen Representative from lying in state at the Capitol.

ELBC’s Legislative reporter says following a standoff, family members of the fallen Lawmaker immediately prevented his remains from lying in state but was taken to Logan Town for hours.

Addressing the press on April 25, 2019, after the impasse, Speaker Chambers said the bereaved family could have sought remedy to issues that that were outside the norms and revert from obstructing a constituted protocol.

However, wake keeping of the late Representative, Adolph Lawrence, was held Thursday night, April 25, 2019, at the Paynesville Town Hall and funeral is being held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral on Broad Street in Monrovia.
