Nat’l Cassava Farmers Union begins exporting cassava to China…

BONG COUNTY,LIBERIA-More than one-thousand cassava farmers across Liberia have begun exporting cassava to China and other parts of the world to help sustain themselves.

The exportation is being done under the auspices of the National Cassava Farmers Union of Liberia, a gathering of cassava farmers with the aim of upgrading the knowledge of its members to increase production and market the produce.

According to ELBC Upper Bong County Correspondent, the President of the group, Emmanuel Tamba, said dry cassava will be purchased and exported to help better the lives of the farmers.

Tamba said:” The group is already purchasing the dry cassava products for shipment to China and other parts of the world.”

Speaking with our Correspondent Friday, April 26, 2019, in Bong County, Tamba disclosed that the Union will formally be launched Saturday, April 27, 2019 in the County.
