Ellen wants Liberias education status addressed

(mylbsonline/Liberian)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf says Liberia’s education quality still needs to be addressed.

President Johnson-Sirleaf said: “The Liberian Government will ensure that schools are well equipped to meet the education needs of Liberian children.”

The President called on Liberian students to venture into the teaching profession to enable them assist in molding the minds of the country’s future generations.

The Liberian Leader then praised Nigeria and other countries for granting volunteer teachers to help teach in Liberian schools.

She said: “I am desirous of seeing all Liberian children in school and more teachers available to teach the children.”

Meanwhile, President Johnson-Sirleaf has clarified that only civil servants will receive the US$25.00 salary increment as was pronounced in January, 2013 during her State-of-the-Nation-Address.

The President’s clarification has laid to rest recent mix-information surrounding the salary increment, as to who is qualified to benefit from it..
