China to provide LBS US10Million improve complex, facility

MONROVIA, LIBERIA - A seven-man Chinese Technical Team is in the country to build a five stories new Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) broadcasting complex in Paynesville, to make Liberians proud of their national broadcast facility.

LBS Director-General, Ledgerhood Rennie said: “Under this project, LBS was earmarked to be rehabilitated upon  this, President Weah, signed a US10Million refurbishment and renovation agreement for both the technical as a well as broadcasting infrastructure of the entity across the county”.

Mr. Rennie speaking Thursday, May 16, 2019 upon arrival of the seven men Chinese Team, in Paynesville, City at the compound of the LBS this is a follow-up of the Chinese Government are here for 21 days to design plan and for the building of the structure.

Both LBS’ Technicians and their Chinese counterparts will carry out assessment aimed at transforming LBS into a state of the art broadcasting institution to connect all parts of Liberia.

This team visit is the beginning of the Chinese Government, intervention  as part of project they have identified to undertake in Liberia, following a state visit of President George Weah to China in September, 2018 when the two governments reached and concluded the understanding.
According to Mr. Rennie: “From the start they expect active work will begin in mid- August or September this year but the Chinese and the LBS Technical Team will have to work together and agree on a work plan and implementation schedule for LNTV broadcast to fully cover Buchanan City, Grand Bassa, Tubmanburg, Bomi County, Gbarnga, Bong and all parts of Montserrado County, and to set up new sub stations around the country”.
