Former CBL officials to argue bonds before Criminal Court C.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA - Former officials of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), who allegedly misused of millions of Liberia Dollars, will were expected Tuesday, to appear before Criminal Court C, to argue the bonds filed in March 2019.

The former CBL officials are Milton Weeks, Richard Walker, Dorbor Hagba and Joseph Dennis, in March filed property bond valued over US$ 200,000.

State lawyers then refuted the bond stating it was insufficient and ordered the court to send the formers officials back to jail.

Charles Sirleaf, son of former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, was bailed out for medical reasons by the court.

The officials concerned were all instructed to leave their passports with the court and to sign in three times weekly. The officials indicted by the Government of Liberia with economic sabotage, criminal conspiracy and criminal facilitation, among others charges.

The indicted officials are at risk being detained if their bonds do not meet the requirement.
