Sinoe, Grand Kru, Gbarpolu roads pavement set for June

MONROVIA, LIBERIA - The Public Works Minister has disclosed the conclusion of procurement process to begin actual pavement of eight kilometers of roads in Sinoe, Grand Kru and Gbarpolu Counties.

Minister Mobutu Nyanpan, said: “ The three counties roads work will is set to commence  in June with monies  from the road fund account will be used to finance  the 8-kilometer roads”.

The Public Works Minister spoke to ELBC, Tuesday, May 28, 2019 said series of payments have being made in the National Road Fund account to facilitate the construction and maintenance of roads in the country.

According to Mr. Nyanpan, “The National Road Fund is up and running and has accrued about US$12Million in its operational account, collected from Levies to underwrite road projects across Liberia”.  

Payments into the National Road Fund account for some times, has experienced a setback after petroleum importers  went to court seeking to block levy imposed on the importation of petroleum products.
