MONROVIA, LIBERIA - A planned meeting between the House of Representatives and the Council of Patriots (COP) in continuation of stakeholders’ engagement initiatives amidst the growing political stalemate in the country is about taking place today at the Capitol.

According to ELBC’s Legislative Reporter, the forum is expected to be attended by representatives of Liberia’s Peace Ambassador and the Peace Building Office.

The House’s Peace Religious and National Reconciliation Committee leadership earlier invited COP’s leadership through Nimba County Representatives, Dorwohn Gleekia, as Chairman wants the ‘Save the State Protest’ organizers of the planned protest to put forth their grievances, to keep the Committee abreast.

Reports say similar meeting between the Liberian Senate and the COP, failed Thursday, May 30, 2019, reasons for the failure to host the meeting are yet unknown up to press time.
