Finance Ministry urges SOEs to comply…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Finance Ministry is urging State Owned Enterprises to comply with a presidential directive, mandating them to implement salary harmonization and adjustment at their respective entities.

Finance and Development Planning Minister, Samuel Tweah, said:” The measure is intended to minimize expenditure cost in the governance system of the Country.”

Minister Tweah said proceeds realized from the salary harmonization and adjustment scheme will be deposited into a Salary Adjustment Account at the Central Bank.

He also warned Heads of State-Owned Enterprises to pay their tax obligations owed Government in the tune of 1.9 million United States Dollars, including budget support.

According to a release issued on May 31.2019, Minister Tweah made the remark of the weekend at the close of discussion with Heads of SOE’s on Tax Obligation and Budget Support held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
