Amb. Boakai wants Gov’t provide security for protesters

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Political Leader of the former ruling Unity Party,  Joseph N. Boakia, is calling on the Government  to provide security protection for the protesters.

Former Vice President Boakia, has however, lauded Government and the United Nations Special Representative, Dr. Mohamed Chambers, the President of ECOWAS Commission, Jean Brou, for the mediation efforts in preserving the peace among others.

Ambassador Boakia wants Liberians in general preserve the country’s peace and stability ahead of the June 7 protest, and called on organizers of the protest to ensure a peaceful demonstration to prove to the world that Liberians are respectful of their constitution.

Former V.P. Boakai, in a release issued June 3, 2019 however, also pleaded with less - privileged young people, commonly called “zogoes,” not to engage into act of violence, assuring them of a brighter future when the state is peaceful.
