China agrees to build state of art broadcast facility for LBS

MONROVIA, LIBERIA - The Chinese Government has finally agreed to build a new state of the art Broadcast facility for the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS).

This followed the signing of the initial technical work plan between the LBS Management and the Chinese Technical Team.

LBS Director General, Ledgerhood Rennie, said: “As part of the agreement, the new broadcast facility will be equipped with several studios and offices, including the provision of an Outside Broadcaster (OB) Van, capable of broadcasting through satellite from all parts of the Liberia”.

Mr. Rennie emphasized that the team, through the Chinese Government, will also renovate the transmission room and all sub-stations around the Country, as well as provide training for LBS staff to operate some of the new equipment.

He told ELBC that this is part of the US$10Million being committed by the Chinese Government to LBS, through the Liberian Government.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Technical team Monday left the Country for China following a three -week assessment of LBS facilities across the Country.
