Liberia supports Ghana’s bid to host African Continent Free Trade Area Secretariat

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has welcomed Ghana’s bid to the Secretariat of the African Continent Free Trade Area (AFCFTA).

Speaking Monday, June 17, 2019, when a high power Ghanaian delegation paid a courtesy call at his office at the Foreign Ministry in Monrovia, President George Weah said:” Such Secretariat will help in boosting trade in the region.”

Also speaking, the head of the Ghanaian Delegation, Alan Kyerematen praised President Weah for his level of leadership, which is helping to gradually strengthen the Country’s growing democracy.

He said:” Ghana, as part of seven nations bidding for the Secretariat, is ready because it has the political will, a stable economy, and is strategically located with skill individuals.”

Mr. Kyerematen also said Ghana has the necessary infrastructure in place to host the Secretariat and has met all requirements among member states to host such Secretariat.
