MONROVIA, LIBERIA-LISCR FC on Sunday, June 16, 2019, scored twice in seven minutes to win the 2019 Liberian FA Cup.

LISCR FC did so by defeating Holders Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) 2-0 in front of a sizable crowd (perhaps the highest attendance in the season) at the ATS in Central Monrovia.

The game was all squared until BYC left back, Daniel Woto, (former LISCR FC left back) was sent off in the 60th minute by Referee Hassan Corneh.

That red card changed the pace of the match, as LISCR FC dominated possession, with the Jackson brothers causing lots of problems for the ten-man BYC.

Sam Jackson beautifully volley from the right wing to set up his senior brother Christopher Jackson, whose powerful head up was too strong for BYC keeper to handle, giving LISCR a 1-0 lead in the 83rd minutes.

Jackson followed up that beautiful goal by setting up Curtis Koon six minutes later to make it 2-0 for LISCR FC.

It was avenged for the Shipping Boys who were humiliated in the final last year by BYC who lifted the title with a 4-0 win.

The 2018 final was again handled by Hassan Corneh who sent off a LISCR Player in that game as BYC went on to wins 4-0.

BYC caretaker Coach, Samuel Sumo described the result as disappointing for his career.

Coach Sumo said “We came all out for the title, but the red card changed the game against us in the second half. We were forced to make changes because of that red card and the injuries sustained by our some of our players”.
