MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has granted a forensic audit of the Central Bank of Liberia.

The audit covers government twenty-five-million United States Dollars mop-up exercise.

Plenary decision was triggered by a report submitted by its Public Accounts Committee Tuesday, June 18, 2019.

The committee’s Chairman, Representative Edward Karfia, said:” The mop-up exercise was characterized by several discrepancies.”

He said the audit of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL) will unearth and suggest prosecution of individuals linked to the discrepancies.

The Committee Chairman, however, said the internal audit by the House of Representatives was not meant for public consumption.
