Liberia Business Registry launches online platform…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Business Registry (LBR) has launched an on line platform to ease the difficulties often experience in getting businesses registered in the Country.

The online platform will also improve the economic climate, encourage foreign investments and ensure transparency in the Business Sector.

LBR Registrar- General Samson Dee said:” The project is part of efforts by Government to empower Liberian businesses and reduce the stress associated with registering businesses in the Country.”

Making the statement Wednesday, July 3, 2019, in Monrovia during the launch of the project, Mr. Dee said the platform will also add value to the business climate and avoid conflict of registered business’ names in the Country.

LBR Registrar-General noted that the platform will further the time involved in local business registration and allow business owners directly apply online without going to the Head Office.

Meanwhile, the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA)’s Chief Executive Officer, Monie Captan, says:” The online platform can only be good if the people are making proper use of the services.”

According Mr. Captan, the introduction of an online service to register and apply for business documents will improve Liberia’s business environment.

He reiterated the importance of the service as a means of enhancing accountability and transparency in the business climate.

Mr. Captan the challenged the LBR Administration to do more education on the usage of the platform to enable business owners easily apply the service.

The MCA Executive also challenged LBR to sustain the platform by investing the required resources to support the service.
