MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Solicitor General Syrenius Cephus wants all contracts granted to private lawyers by public corporations and agencies reviewed.

Cllr.Cephus’ call is in reaction to reports that public corporations and agencies are hiring lawyers and paying them high fees for professional services.

The Solicitor General, however, described as unacceptable the paying of between 40 to 100 thousand United States Dollars to private lawyers for professional services at public corporations and other government agencies.

Cllr. Cephus alleged that private lawyers are paid more money than prosecutors at the Justice Ministry.

Liberia’s Solicitor General said his office has begun engaging public corporations and agencies to submit all contracts signed with private lawyers.
