MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Supreme Court has reserved ruling into the change of venue request by lawyers of Jonathan Williams currently facing prosecution for allegedly killing Journalist Tyron Brown.

The lead Defense Lawyer, Jallah Barbue, appealed to the Supreme Court’s Full Bench to grant their request to change the case’s venue to avoid public sentiments during proceedings.

But ELBC’s Judicial Reporter said Criminal Court ‘A’ Judge, Roosevelt Willie, initially denied the request by Defense Lawyers on grounds that the Court has no evidence that the case would be overridden by public sentiments.

Our Reporter said following the denial of their request by Judge Willie, Defense Lawyers then appealed to Justice in Chambers Sianeh Yuoh.

He also noted that following careful review of Defense’s request, Justice Yuoh overturned Judge Roosevelt Willie’s decision and ruled in favor of Defense Lawyer’s request.

Our Reporter further pointed out that Judge Yuoh’s action prompted prosecution lawyers to seek further appeal to the Supreme Court’s Full Bench.
