MONROVIA, LIBERIA -Residents and travellers in the Liberia’s South Eastern Region are expected to be relieved from the ongoing construction of the Timbo River Bridge project.

The Bridge which Links Grand Bassa, Rivercess and other South Eastern Counties is worn out and undergoing major construction.

Currently, residents of the area are using canoes as a means of transportation as a result of the current bridge project.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday, July 16, 2019, Public Works Minister Mabutu Nyenpan said he is impressed with the level of progress made on the bridge construction.

He said the project is in fulfillment of the 2017 agreement signed between the Liberian Government and Jupiter Construction Company.

The contractor of Jupiter Construction Company, Flody Thomas, assured the National Government of the completion of the project before the end of July, 2019.

He said:” The American-made steel bridge project will weigh about 200 tons upon completion, and when properly maintained will last up to 80-100 years
