Gov. releases protocols for Independence Day celebrations

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has released the official protocols for the observance of Liberia’s 172nd Independence celebrations on July 26.

The Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Jarvis Witherspoon, said:” The celebrations could officially commence on Friday, July 19, 2019, with a Thanksgiving and Intercessory Service at the Black Genie Mosque on the Somalia Drive.

Ambassador Witherspoon disclosed that sporting activities could follow on Saturday July 20, and another thanksgiving service on Sunday July 21 at the Liberty Christian Center.

Addressing the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism press briefing Thursday, July 18, 2019, Ambassador Witherspoon said that the dedication of several development projects and an investiture ceremony will take place beginning July 22, 2019.

Ambassador Witherspoon named the Presidents of Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Guinea and Ghana have consented to attend the celebrations.
