Independence Day celebrations itinerary out

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The official program marking Liberia’s 172nd Independence Day celebrations on July 26 is expected to be held at the Centennial Memorial Pavilion in Monrovia.

Nobel Laureate Layma Gbowee has been named by President George Weah to serve as Independence Day Orator.

Madam Gbowee is popularly known as a Peace Advocate and winner of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize held in Norway.

According to the itinerary released this week, the Armed Forces of Liberia will begin parading at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville at midday.

Meanwhile, a Peace and Reconciliation Concert has been scheduled to take place at the SKD Complex with several Liberian artists expected to carry on live performances
