MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the 2018/19 WASSCE results, with twelve-thousand students from 46 schools failing in all nine subjects.

WAEC-Liberia Head Dale Gbotoe announced the results Thursday, July 25, 2019, and described the outcome of the exams as encouraging as compared to the 2017/18 test.

Mr.Gbotoe said:” More than thirty-nine-thousand candidates from six-hundred-fifty-one high schools sat the 2017/18 WASSCE Exams with 51% of the students passing in Mathematics.”

He said:” Though there was no leakage of the test, about eight-thousand-seven-hundred-fourteen candidates’ results are being withheld for various forms of academic malpractices and dishonest acts exhibited during the test.”
Meanwhile, the Education Ministry is warning school administrators whose students failed in all nine subjects to be denied graduation, as violators shall be dealt with administratively.
