Pres. Weah submits three bills for ratification

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has submitted to the House of Representatives for ratification three bills seeking to prohibit the misuse of narcotic drugs and other harmful substances.
President Weah, however, wants narcotic drugs to be used for medical and scientific purposes.
He said:” Liberia has not ratified the conventions on drugs, thereby posing difficulty in the execution of the Country’s o0bligation to the International Narcotic Board.”
The President stressed the need for the enactment of stringent drug mechanism to ensure that young people are protected against drug abuse.
Meanwhile, the Bills have been forwarded to the House Committees on Health, Judiciary, Foreign Affairs, and National Security to report in two weeks.
