Electoral law amendment in the making before 2020 mid-term elections

MONROVIA, LIBERIA - The National Election Commission (NEC), is holding series of election stakeholders’ consultations for a possible electoral reform law  to take effect   before  and after the 2020 Senatorial Elections and afterwards.

One of such consultations is currently underway in Buchanan City brought together Civic Society Organizations (CSOs), youth groups, chiefs and elders from Sinoe, Rivercess, Margibi and Grand Bassa Counties.  

According to ELBC’s Grand Bassa County Correspondent, participants are recommending that several portions of the electoral law require amendments. The ongoing nation-wide electoral law reform consultation recently held its phase two dialogue in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.
