Over 8,000 acres of farmland for Liberian youth

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Over 8,000 acres of farmland have been cultivated in  all 15 counties across the country  to benefit Liberian youth.

The land was cultivated by young people under the Youth Opportunity Project of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Youth and Sports Minister Zeogar Wilson said: “About 10,000 young people are benefiting from the project's sub-component-Productive Public Works and Life Skills.”

”More than 200 farms were cultivated in 159 communities across the country under this project”. Minister Wilson pointed out at a news conference held Thursday, August 8, 2019, in Monrovia.

Mr. Wilson further disclosed that about  US$1Million was used as labor subsidies for the first two rounds of the Productive Public Works and Life Skills.
