MONROVIA, LIBERIA - A member of the Liberian Legislature of Grand Bassa County District #4, Representative Vincent Willie, is calling for a halt to any budgetary appropriations for the renovation of the Executive Mansion-The Seat of the Liberian Government.

Rep. Willie, in a letter to the House of Representative’s Plenary last week said: “I want a forensic audit be conducted by a reputable firm, because since the Executive Mansion was gutted by fire in 2006, a little over US$20Million has been allotted for its renovation”.

Budgetary supports have being provided for the renovation of the Executive Mansion, since 2006 by the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Administration but until now the completion of the states House is yet to be realized.

According the Grand Bassa County Representative; “The audit will inform the Plenary of the appropriate action to be buttress government’s quest against wasteful spending in the public sector”.
