MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has officially inducted Montserrado County Senator-elect, Abraham Darius Dillon.

This followed the presentation of credentials and the taking of oath of office by Mr. Dillon Thursday, August 15, 2019, in Plenary.

In his post induction statement, Senator Dillon thanked the people of Montserrado County for electing him.

He pledged his commitment to ensure that the people are duly represented at the Senate.

Meanwhile, Senator Dillon has declared his assets in Plenary in the value of seventy-five-thousand United States Dollars.

Earlier, President Pro-Temp Albert Chie welcomed his colleague and urged him to work beyond party line.

In another development, the House of Representative has cited Justice Minister Cllr. Musa Dean, to explain what led him to postpone the collection of Road Fund Act.

The House of Representatives alleged that Justice Minister Dean made a payment plan of institutions indebted to the Liberian Government, without the consent of the House of Representatives.

ELBC’s Legislative Reporter stated that members of that august body, consistent with Article 34 of the Liberian Constitution, argued Thursday, August 15, 2019, that they have the power to handle all financial matters.

They wondered why the Justice Minister would mandate institutions indebted to the Government of Liberia to make payment in the period of seven years.

Members of that body believe that government needs the Road Fund to facilitate other development projects.
