Abolish sale of uniforms- Gov’t orders private, public schools

MONROVIA, LIBERIA –The Ministry of Education has mandated all schools in Liberia to immediately abolish the compulsory sale of school uniforms by various schools’ administrations on their schools campuses.

The Ministry, in a statement issued in Monrovia during the weekend said: “Purchasing of uniforms from various schools including public schools should be optional and not compulsory for parents and students”. 

The Education Ministry has further ordered schools to being displaying the samples of their uniforms on their respective bulletins for students’ consumption, prior to registration.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education is calling on parents and guardians, sponsors and the student populace to report administrators engaged in compelling them to purchase uniforms from their schools, following this mandate.
