Former Central Bank officials’ corruption case resumes

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The case involving former officials of the Central Bank of Liberia is expected to resume today Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Criminal Court C at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.

Defendants Charles Sirleaf, Milton Weeks, Dorbor Hagba, Joseph Dennis and Richard Walker, were allegedly charged with economic sabotage, criminal facilitation, criminal solicitation and bribery among others.

They were also accused of printing excess Liberian Dollars banknotes.

The defendants were arrested late February and brought to the Monrovia City Court on March 4, after they could not secure a valid criminal appearance bond.

Defendant Charles Sirleaf was released due to poor health, while the others secured properties and cash bond respectively.
