MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Orange –Liberia has officially adjusted the three-day free calls with immediate effect.

This follows the new regulations of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority to GSM Service Providers.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Orange-Liberia, Noel Chateau, the LTA’s decision has caused the company to make some adjustment in their previous promotion.

He said:” The new promotion means that the previous three day free call which was unlimited is not adjusted to 45 minutes.”

Speaking at a news conference Monday, September 2, 2019, in Monrovia, Mr. Chateau said only SMS remains unlimited under the service.

Meanwhile, the Liberia Telecommunication Authority (LTA), in collaboration with GSM companies, Orange and Lone Star MTN, has adjusted all calls and data packages.

According to the LTA Director of Communications, Jassie Burphy, the GSM companies requested the adjustment in the promotion due to losses incurred in revenue generation on free calls and data promotions.

In an ELBC interview Monday, September 2, 2019, Madam Burphy said:” The discussions were fruitful because the Government of Liberia was also loosing huge income due to free calls and data promotions.”
It can be recalled that since the 1st of September, 2019, customers of Orange and Lonestar have received messages indicating that by directive of the LTA, all mobile on-net voice and data prices have been adjusted.

The new adjusted tariff puts one dollar to forty-five minutes for three day period, while data packages have been adjusted.
