ECOWAS Parliament convenes today in Monrovia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament at the head of a 150-member delegation has arrived in the Country.

The Head of the Delegation, Mustapha Cisse Lo is in Liberia together with other members, including John Azumah, Secretary General of the ECOWAS Parliament, experts and resource personnel.

Bomi County Representative Edwin Snowe, head of the Liberian Delegation at the ECOWAS Parliament, said:” While in Liberia, the delegation will organize and participate in four critical different events adopted by the Parliament for implementation under its 2019 programs.”

According to the schedule, the meeting of the Bureau will take place Tuesday, September 10, 2019, followed by other meetings.

A Parliamentary Seminar will be held from the 12th to the 14th of September to open by Liberia’s Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor.

Thereafter, the Fourth Legislature of the ECOWAS Parliament will convene in its 2019 Extraordinary Session from 16th to the 21st of September, where President George Weah is expected to formally open the session.

The scheduled events will take place at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town to afford the Parliament the opportunity to consider and adopt its proposed budget for 2020 fiscal year.
