World Bank names Amara Konneh, Senior Advisor-Partnership, Regional Integration

MONROVIA, LIBERIA –Liberia’s former Minister of Finance, Amara Konneh, has being appointed to a new position in the World Bank Group, as Senior Advisor for Partnership and Regional Integration in the African and the Middle-East Region based in Washington, DC.

Mr. Konneh’s role is to lead a team in managing diplomatic relationships with continental and regional economic organizations, including the African Union, ECOWAS and MRU, SADC COMESA, the Arab League, African Development Bank and the Islamic Development Bank, among others.

Following his appointment Tuesday, September 10, 2019, the new World Bank’s Senior Advisor for Partnership and Regional Integration, expressed excitement for his new role.

Mr. Konneh said: “My appointment has opened a new chapter that allows me to work full time on issues related to Africa and the Middle-East which are closest to me personally”.

He expressed gratitude to the World Bank for its continue confidence in his abilities and contributions to the fight against poverty globally, and is looking forward to addressing leaders of Africa and the Middle-East on his new journey.
