SOUTH-EASTERN LIBERIA-Report says the people of South-eastern Liberia are facing serious economic hardship due to bad roads.

According the ELBC’s Grand Gedeh County Correspondent, more than seventy trucks and seventeen pickups with goods loaded are stuck up in mud in an area known as Kpelleh Village.

Our Correspondent said commercial drivers plying the Zwedru-Ganta highway have increased transportation fares to nine-thousand Liberian Dollars.

Our Correspondent is also quoted as saying prices of basic commodities, including rice and flour have also been hiked by business people.

According to the report, a bag of 25kg rice previously sold for one-thousand-eight-hundred Liberian Dollars is currently being sold in Grand Gedeh for five-thousand Liberian Dollars.
