MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The ECOWAS Representative in Liberia, Babatunde Ajisomo, has outlined key factors responsible for drug trafficking in the sub-region.

Ambassador Ajisomo named weak and anti-drug interventions and porous borders as contributing factors for the promotion of illicit drug trafficking.

He said:” The situation also undermines good governance, stability and economic development in the sub-region, including the negative impact on the family and education of children among others.”

The ECOWAS Representative to Liberia made the assertion Wednesday, September 11, 2019, in Monrovia at the start of three-day training for religious entities.

The forum is intended to effectively support families in preventing drug use and dependency in Liberia.
