Prez. Weah seeks to establish War and Economic Crimes Court

MONROVIA LIBERIA - President George Weah has submitted a communication to the House of Representatives, seeking the establishment of a war and economic crimes court in Liberia.

President Weah informed plenary Friday that the letter was based on recommendations from participants at the recent National Economic Dialogue.

The participants among other things recommended the establishment of War and Economic Crimes court for the prosecution of individuals who perpetrated crimes against humanity.

However, the House of Representatives has instructed its members to solicit the views of their constituents on the establishment of a war and economic crimes court in Liberia while on legislative break.

The House of Representatives is expected to adjourn at the end of September to return next year January.
