MONROVIA, LIBERIA –The Liberian leader says the sustenance of peace, security and development of Liberia requires a joint effort of the citizenry and the international partners.

President George Weah said: “My government’s priority is to improve my people’s living standard through the creation of jobs, provision of better housing units and other infrastructure developments especially for the needy”.

President Weah said this can be achieved with the support and intervention of the International Community, including the United Nations and other partners.

According to an Executive Mansion release issued Tuesday, September 17, 2019, the Liberian leader made the statement when he met with the Acting United Nations Resident Country Coordinator to Liberia, Kingsley Amaning.

Speaking, Mr. Amaning commended President Weah for his level of tolerance and work done in the country since his ascendancy.

According to him, “we have promise to work along with President Weah and the Liberian people to implement the ‘Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD)’.

Mr. Amaning noted that the government’s decentralization effort is taking development and capacity building to the people.
