MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Health Minister, Wilhelmina Jallah, has assured the leadership of the Health Workers Union of the Ministry’s commitment to addressing the Union’s concerns with urgency.

Minister Jallah gave the assurance Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the close of series of negotiation talks involving health authorities and the Health Workers Union of Liberia on the recent go –slow action.

Dr. Jallah, however, said: “While Government attaches seriousness to the health workers’ concerns, it is not possible to solve all the problems overnight.”

Recently, health workers began a nation–wide strike action in demand of salary arrears and increment, poor working conditions medical equipment, among others.

During the mediation talks, the Health Workers Union of Liberia agreed to discontinue the strike action and called on all health workers across the country to return to work with immediate effect.
