MONROVIA, LIBERIA - Teachers of all Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS) after a day of protest action on their behalf by students of the system have agreed to return to classes today Thursday, October 17, 2019.

The teachers and the MCSS Administration initiated a mass meeting Wednesday, October 16, 2019 in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Information and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning in finding solution to salary arrears.

Recently the MCSS teachers threatened a strike action in demand of salary arrears owned them by Government, but called off the strike following assurance by government to address their concern.

But, the MCSS students Tuesday, October 15, 2019 staged a protest to draw Government action in demand of their teachers’ pay due to their teachers’ failure to go to classes.

Meanwhile, the Government has paid the August salaries of the MCSS teachers, while their September salaries are being processed for payment shortly.
