MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it will not accept new applications for ordinary passports beginning Monday, October 25, 2019.

A Foreign Affairs release issued recently said the action is due to the huge influx of citizens’ applications and to ease the strain on the processing equipment.

The release further said that the Passport Bureau will be working overtime to fix the complications and will and ensure that applications that are already in the system are processed in a timely manner before any new application is accepted.

The Ministry said it would only attend to critical emergencies if the need arises.

The Ministry, however, regrets the inconvenience the temporary shutdown will cause citizens.
