MONOVIA, LIBERIA-Lawyers representing the legal interest of Roots FM Talk Show Host Henry Costa have filed a motion to the Monrovia Central Court to seek the return of properties seized and to suppress the evidence.

They also prayed the Court to stop the Government from taking further action capable of interfering with the broadcast of Roots FM.

Recently the Monrovia City Court issued a search and seizure warrant against Henry Costa of Roots FM in response to the Liberian Government’s application, claiming that the entity has not registered as a licensed radio station in Liberia.

But In a thirteen-count motion, the defense lawyers argued that the Search and Seizure Warrant issued by the Monrovia City Court was in violation of Section 11.10 of the Criminal Procedure Law of Liberia.

They said Roots FM 102.7 was licensed on June 7, 2018 and is not in violation of the law, and there is no probable cause for the Search and Seizure Warrant against the radio station.
